Things to Do
Birtle has a launch point on the north side of town along Kent street. In the Miniota area head to 1 mile west off 83 highway on road 78N to launch. At Hoopers Lake small boats can be launched at the beach area or head north to boat launch.
Prairie View Municipality has options for fishing with or without a boat. See some locations to drop a line on the Fishing page.
A sand bottom chlorinated beach is located at the Birtle Riverside Park, see more details here.
Hiking & Ski Trails
Prairie view has trails for all seasons for you to enjoy. Find them here.
The Municipality has two golf courses with carts and clubs available for rent.
Foxwarren Leisure Center has a small 7 hole mini golf course. Clubs and balls are available for use by the bench outside during the summer months. Donations can be made to the Leisure center.
There are Tennis Courts located at the Birtle Riverside Golf Course. Inquire about rentals at the clubhouse.
Bird & Wildlife Watching
Prairie View Municipality has areas ideal for bird & wildlife watching. Our Municipality has some areas featured in Manitoba Wild by author Bill Stilwell as well as Wildlife Management Areas. Wildlife Management Areas exist for the benefit of wildlife and for people's enjoyment. The areas play an important role in biodiversity conservation and provide for a variety of wildlife-related forms of recreation.
Geocaching is a great outdoor activity for all ages. At geocaching.com you will find more information on how to play and the coordinates of some caches in the Prairie View area.
You will find a few great playgrounds in our area. There are playgrounds at Birtle Beach and one at the center of Miniota.
Farmers Markets are held in the summer months and a great chance to grab some local produce, baking, crafts and more. Follow Birtle Centre for the Arts and Miniota Farmers Market on Facebook for details.

Dog ParkBirtle Lions Pooch Park is located just off 83 highway at the west end of Birtle and is a great stop for you and your Pooch to stretch your legs.
