Miniota Waste Disposal

Curbside garbage/recycling pick-up is available to the communities of Birtle, Miniota and Foxwarren. 
 
If you want curbside garbage/recycling pick up please register at the Municipal Office.  The fee for service is $240.00 plus GST per year.  You will receive 104 bag tags (bag tags are for garbage only, recycling does not require a bag tag). Additional tags can be purchased for $1.00 plus GST per tag.
 
If you choose not to register for the service please visit the Miniota landfill at the times listed below.
 
Miniota Waste Disposal Grounds is located south of Miniota west of HWY 83 and HWY 24 junction on the NE 25-13-27.
 
Hours of Operation are:
Tuesdays  3:00 pm to 5:30 pm - Summer Hours (May - September)
3:00 pm to 4:30 pm - Winter Hours (October - April)
Fridays 10:00 am to 11:30 am
3:00 pm to 4:30 pm
Saturdays 9:15 am to 12:00 pm

Garbage dumpsters are located in Arrow River, Beulah, Crandall, and Isabella.
 
Residents of the LUD of Miniota have curb-side garbage pick-up on FRIDAYS.
 
 
What can go in the pit:
  • basic household garbage
  • all products made out of styrofoam
  • toilets and porcelain products
  • old dishes
  • non-recyclable plastics
  • windows
*if you are unsure ask the Waste Management Supervisor

What can be burnt:
  • boughs, leaves, straw
  • paper products
  • cardboard
  • packing materials derived from wood
  • certain furniture
Products Collected:
  • automotive batteries
  • tires (passenger & agricultural)
  • E-waste (TVs, computers, keyboards, mouse, laptops, scanners, copiers, fax machines, telephones, cell phones, DVD players, VCRs, stereos, microwaves, rechargeable batteries)
  • white good fridges/freezers - door must be separate with freon removed
  • propane tanks
  • paint cans - lids removed to dry paint out

  • Glass
  • Plastics – containers must be #4, #5, #7, PET#1, HDPE#2. (check bottom of container to see the grade of plastic)
  • Paper - Newspaper, magazines

  • Gabled top containers
