Curbside Pick-Up
Curbside garbage/recycling pick-up is available to the communities of Birtle, Miniota and Foxwarren.
If you want curbside garbage/recycling pick up please register at the Municipal Office. The fee for service is $252.00 per year (includes GST). You will receive 104 bag tags (bag tags are for garbage only, recycling does not require a bag tag). Additional tags can be purchased for $1.00 plus GST per tag.
Birtle curbside pick-up takes place on Thursdays, containers must be set out by 8:00 a.m.
Foxwarren curbside pick-up takes place on Mondays, containers must be set out by 12:00 p.m.
Residents of the LUD of Miniota curb-side pick-up takes place on Fridays, containers must be set out by 12:00 p.m.
- All items are to be bagged: BLUE for recycling; any other colour for garbage.
- Garbage must have a bag tag

Garbage Dumpsters are located in Arrow River, Beulah, Crandall, Isabella, Solsgirth & Foxwarren. All items are to be bagged: BLUE for recycling; any other colour for garbage. Household garbage only.

The following items are accepted for recycling:
- Glass
- Plastics – containers must be #4, #5, #7, PET#1, HDPE#2 & 3. (check bottom of container to see the grade of plastic)
- Paper - Newspaper, magazines
- Cardboard
- Boxboard
- Tin cans
- Pop or Beer cans
- Gabled top containers
- Batteries/automotive batteries
- Tires (passenger & agricultural)
- E-waste (TVs, computers, keyboards, mouse, laptops, scanners, copiers, fax machines, telephones, cell phones, DVD players, VCRs, stereos, microwaves, rechargeable batteries)
- Dehumidifier, A/C, fridges/freezers - door must be separate
- Propane tanks
- Paint cans - lids removed to dry paint out
- Oil and antifreeze filters
- DEF containers
Compost
Miniota compost site is located outside the gates at the Miniota Waste Disposal Grounds.
Birtle compost site is located north east of the arena. You are invited to add your compostables to the "ADD HERE” pile and take finished compost from the "No Dumping” pile. Please do not add fresh compost to the finished pile.
If you are placing items in the compost site, remove them from the plastic bags used to transport them.
Compostable material includes:
- vegetable trimmings
- fruit rinds & peeling
- leaves and grass clippings
- garden waste
Please do not add:
- animal waste
- ashes
- plastic bags and containers
- metal and glass
- large branches
- garbage
- raspberry canes
- corn stalks
- meat products
