The Royal Canadian Legion Birtle Branch #55 was established in 1931.
There is an active Legion Ladies Auxiliary
Our big event is November 11th - Remembrance Day. There is a Church Service, a Cenotaph Service at 11:00 and a Lunch. The Poppy Campaign, held at that time, is to aid comrades who need monetary assistance for many reasons. We also have a summer Barbeque that we all enjoy.
We supply a Scholarship to a graduating student from the Birtle Collegiate every year, this recipient must have a Legion connection.
We sponsor an individual to the Legion Track and Field camp at the Peace Gardens each summer.
We sponsor a Remembrance Day Poster and Literary Contest.
We meet the first Tuesdays of the month, for seven months of the year. New members are always welcome, you need not have anyone affiliated with the Legion to join.

Lest We Forget
They shall not grow old,
as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them,
nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
we will remember them.
