Prairie View Municipality offers columbariums in Birtle, Miniota and Foxwarren. Columbariums provide an eco-friendly, dignified and cost-efficient means of securing you and your loved one’s final resting place. A columbarium is a structure designed to hold the cremated remains of individuals within niches.
Our columbariums can hold up to two urns within a single niche. Families can purchase the niche of their choosing at either Miniota or Birtle offices. An administrative assistant will handle the purchasing of the accompanying plaque, and the family will be invoiced for the plaque once it has arrived from our distributor, Nelson Granite. Our Public Works staff open & close the columbarium niche as needed, and handle the installation of the plaque. The purchase of the plaque through the municipality is mandatory.

Memory Wall Plaques:
A Memory Wall plaque is installed on the columbarium, but does not include a niche. The plaque includes a full name, birth year and year of death.
