The Midwest Planning District is a collaborative regional planning body, comprised of the Prairie View Municipality, RM of Ellice-Archie, Hamiota Municipality, and the RM of Oakview. Together, these municipalities work to ensure safe development across the region.
The Planning District works out of the municipal office in Miniota, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm. They provide a wide range of services for residents, developers, and businesses, including:
Building Regulation & Inspections: Ensuring that all construction projects meet safety codes and regulations, from new builds to renovations.
Permits: Issuing and managing permits for building, plumbing, and demolition projects.
Planning Services: Reviewing applications for conditional uses, variances, and rezoning requests to support community growth while maintaining zoning integrity.
Zoning Memorandums: Providing official documentation regarding property zoning for residents, businesses, and legal purposes.
Fire Prevention Inspections: Working with local fire departments to conduct inspections that safeguard buildings and communities.
By centralizing these services, the Midwest Planning District helps streamline development processes, maintain community standards, and support sustainable growth throughout the region.
